![]() ![]() While classroom libraries definitely have a need for books that show students how to welcome newcomers, they are great for home use as well, especially when they feature a beloved character like Amy Wu. ![]() My favorite part of the book might be Amy's cat, who shows up in most of the illustrations and is cute and fluffy, with great expressions! The other classmates are also welcoming to Lin, and follow Any's lead. In this sweet and brightly illustrated picture book, Amy Wu must craft a dragon unlike any other to share with her class at school in this unforgettable follow-up to Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao. It's good to see a diverse cast of people, and to see Amy welcome them all. Hardcover Picture Book, December 15, 2020. Amy Wu does her best to make her new classmate feel welcome in this warmhearted and playfully illustrated follow-up picture book to Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao and Amy Wu and the Patchwork Dragon. She is probably in early elementary school, and I love how she consults the adults in her life to help her with her struggle. Amy is an engaging character who cares for her classmates and really wants to make Lin feel welcome in the classroom, but struggles with how to accomplish this. ![]()

And, much to my surprise, I found that I actually enjoyed this movie. Misery has some horrific scenes, for sure, but I don't think of it as a full-on horror film, at least not like what King has been known for. If there's a common theme between them, it's that, with the exception of Carrie, none of them are horror films. I'm sure I'm missing some, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind. ![]() Examples of quality movies adapted from King stories/books range from: Carrie, Misery, Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, The Green Mile, Dolores Claiborne. There's exceptions to the rule, of course, particularly for a guy who's as prolific as King has been during his entire career. The next time I saw the film was on TV in the 1980's although on that occasion I only caught the last five minutes or so, but this confirmed that I had correctly remembered the Miss Tiggywinkle shot at the end. The only image that stuck in my mind from that occasion though, was the final shot at the end when Miss Tiggywinkle runs across a meadow and disappears into the distance. This was the almost certainly the first film I saw in the cinema, which would have been in the spring or summer of 1971, when I turned 8 in June of that year. ![]() ![]() ![]() (Walter Curt), 1894-1963 DDC/LCCĬoptic in 20 lessons : introduction to Sahidic Coptic with exercises & vocabularies by Layton, Bentley DDC/LCCĪcta Pauli, : aus der Heidelberger koptischen Papyrushandschrift Nr.
